Children and Youth
We strive to make
Bethel a place where children and youth can grow in a spirituality that
is honest, creative, life giving, and inquizative. Bethel is
a
place where children and youth can ask questions and develop together
in a way that takes their experience into consideration.
Youth
are invitied to be full participants in the life of the church.
Our praise band consists of primarily youth and is open to
all
ages!
Godly Play
Our Godly Play program starts at
9:45, following the children's message in our 9am service.
Godly
play is a creative way that children interact with faith and scripture
at their own pace, through telling stories, creating art, and play.
Based on the Montessori method, children learn what part of
the
story they most identify with and respond through their own creativity.
Rather than memorize Bible passages, children learn to tell
the
stories from scripture using figures, props, and other objects, so that
they really know
the Bible. Godly play ends at 10:30.
Bethel Buddies
Our
Wednesday night program is a time for all ages to come together, share
a meal, and dig deeper into our faith. Much like a summer
camp,
we have a good time with a variety of activities. We sing
together and eat together and then split into different age groups for
our study time, which may include games, arts and crafts, or topical
discussion. Different age groups run from Kindergarten to
High
School. Adult Bible studies also take place during this time.
This is truely a time for all ages.
Youth Group
There
are many exciting things going on for youth at Bethel. Sunday
School classes are from 10:00 to 10:45 for Middle School and High
School youth.
Youth Group meetings take place on Sunday
evenings at 6:30pm. Usually Middle School youth group meets
on
the first and third Sunday's of the month, while High School youth
group meets on the second and forth Sundays. Check our online calendar and our youth group page for more
